  1. That is so sweet and I love that they were so confident in knowing how to enact their plan. But as a mom, I would be FREAKED OUT if it had been my kids!

  2. I must keep vigilant, as my six year old seems to fall in love at the drop of a hat…and his sister is all too willing to witness any form of romance 🙂

I also just read about a six year old who missed the school bus so he took his parents car and drove to school. He made it six miles before he crashed into a pole. He wasn’t hurt so he got out and walked the rest of the way. He didn’t want to miss P.E.!

Kids today grow up so fast!

  3. Oh my goodness. That’s a wonderful story but all I could think about was their poor mom!

  4. Sweet story! They come from around where I live, and our local paper says the 5 and 6 yr old tried it AGAIN Monday afternoon while their parents were napping. The door was locked but they climbed a tall shelf, found the key their dad had hidden and took off for warmer climes. Luckily Mama woke up in time and caught sight of them before they reached the tram. The director of the Hannover Zoo has now given them free passes to come see the giraffes so they can get Africa out of their system once and for all!

  5. I love that story! Definitely cheering and it does sound like a movie. I hope Zoe doesn’t hear about that — she loves to travel as it is.

  6. Amazing story. I have a five year old daughter, and I can’t fathom that she would do such a thing… however she does have a six year old boy who is a friend living across the road. I’ll have to keep a closer watch. Amazing story of the power of love.

  7. This made the papers here too – so charming! And how funny that they were totally specific about where they wanted to go. It reminds me of when I officiated at the “wedding” of my brother and a friend, both aged about 4 – and the bride promptly came down with mumps the next day, post-kiss!

  8. OK, Yes I was feeling a bit blue about all of this! Thanks for the pick-me-up.
